The Minnesota Wild are down a pair of key forwards.
Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek were both placed on injured reserve on Friday, the team announced.
The team recalled forwards Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Hunter Haight in their place.
Minnesota also made a shuffle on defence, calling up David Jiricek while assigning Carson Lambos to the AHL.
It is unclear when Boldy suffered the injury. The 24-year-old has played all 48 games — part of a streak of 203 consecutive — for the Wild this season with a team-high 27 goals and 24 assists.
The Milford, Mass., native will miss at least four games, including a three-game road trip in Buffalo, Toronto and Montreal running Saturday through Tuesday.
Eriksson Ek has missed the past three games after he was injured earlier in January. On Thursday, head coach John Hynes said he was day-to-day.
The 28-year-old forward, who was named to the Swedish Olympic team, has 11 goals and 21 assists in 45 games this season.
Aube-Kubel, 29, has skated in four games for the Wild this season, notching one assist.
Haight, 21, has played two games for the Wild without getting on the scoresheet.
Jiricek, the 22-year-old first-round pick who was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets last season, will return to the Wild after playing 18 games this season without a point.
Lambos, 23, appeared in just one game.
Minnesota (26-13-9) sits third in the Central Division with 61 points in 48 games.
